Pictures can say 1,000 words...
Life at Pittsburg State University is never that boring... Friends are always around and campus always has something going on. I love this campus and wouldn't change anything for the world!

So, I realize that I've been horrible and haven't updated this in a really long time. however, I'm going to update with pictures!!

Christmas break my family went to Corpus Christi, TX... we went from several feet of snow in Norman, OK (where we drove through the worst snowstorm they had in their history on Christmas Eve... took us about 11 hours to get there from Kansas City. After getting stuck several times and pushing us plus several others out multiple times... ugh. long story...) Anyways, this is us infront of the USS Lexington!

The view from our hotel. beachfront. Can I hear aWoohoo!?

I woke up really early for me (before anyone else even!) and took this picture. So Pretty!!!

One of the first few pics I took down there. I enjoy taking pictures...

One of my favorite Christmas gifts. My sister took me to bedlam (OU v OSU) where she had also won free armbands to get into the Sooner Club. Then she had it all framed up with the ticket and gave it to me for Christmas. So Cool!!

Anyways, it's after spring break now and I'm only a few short weeks from graduating college. can you believe that? I can't... This semester is really hard between my classes and my senioritis. =(

This is a short update, esp for how long it's been, but I'm getting tired. Me. Tired. At 11 pm. Shocking to me too! Oh well. I'll try this again later.

later, loves!
me.

Me and Gus at a senior day!

The Pitt State Color Guard after our final performance at Neowollah. That was a lot of fun =)
We had big hair for that performance and fun spiderweb make-up. Woohoo!

Me and one of the other graduating senior from guard, Kathleen, who was also a cap with me. She's pretty much BA!

Me and my sister, Nikki, at the Bedlam game. BEST SISTER AND CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER!

I apologize. As of today, I have finished up the first semester of my last year. It's been crazy.

On the bright side, however, I'm still alive!

Hey now, thats an accomplishment!

My sleeping schedule, on the other hand, is completely screwed up. hence why I'm still up at 2 am.

I'm not looking forward to leaving Pitt in 5 months... I don't want to leave. Not only is this the longest time I've attended one school (I'm in my 5th year) but I'll miss my friends and this campus. I love this place.

I get my class ring for Christmas =) I absolutely cannot wait to get it. It's gonna be so pretty!

Next semester is going to kill me:
Internal Auditing
Political Philosopy I
Principles of Justice Studies
Mythology
Judicial Process
Orchestra

My roommate, Natalie, and I may add Pilates to our list for next semester so we have an exercise class. My friend Bridget would also be in the class.

Well kids, I'm out.

Later loves!

My mini dachshund, Max, in what should be his next Halloween costume!
So, greetings on a new year at PSU! I had a fun summer... well, to me it was fun. June was full of C.A.R.E.S. and class and in July there was Ohio and SAI Convention.

In Ohio, we got to go to the Ohio State Reformatory, which houses the Largest free standing cell block...

It's huge! The OSR has also been featured on multiple shows like Ghost Hunters and is top of the list for Haunted Prisons. Pretty Cool!

This is the entrance for the OSR... it looks really intimidating and cool when you go up to it, there are 2 wings on either side as well, where the cell blocks are. The rest has been torn down to make way for other things like ManCI (Mansfield Correctional Institute, a medium security level prison, I think) and RiCCI (Richland County Corectional Institute, a maximum security level prison)

Behind bars... It got better... I also got locked up in one of the cells...

Thats just a sample of the pictures from the trip there... we took almost 200 during the 45 min
long tour itself!
We also saw a lot of our family back there on my dad's side... heres some pictures of that...

Pastor Zambo Solomon, from Camaroon, was visiting our friends Ruth and Les Vnasdale (seated far right in the picture) then my mom and sister are in the middle

This next one is my family and the Vnasdales. I *heart* them =)
This is Me, my aunt Sissy (Grandma's older sister, 96 or 97), my grandma Light (93), and my Sister, Nikki.
My family on the Light side... women only!

SAI Convention, however, was me and two of my friends. We drove up and got into Linconshire, IL at like, midnight, where we found the marriott resort and checked in. IT WAS AMAZING! Laura, Christa, and I had a fabulous time and we won the Providence Collegiate Chapter Award for the Theta A Providence =) We were in the running for the National Collegiate Chapter Award, but we lost to a chapter on the east coast that is probably full of the next Sister Theresas... But thats ok, because we're still one of the top 8 chapters in the nation =)
Well, now we're back to school. Band camp was fun, not bad at ALL, guard bonding (yay tie-dying shirts!) and we're heading into out 3rd and probably most anticipated game of the season.
PITT STATE VS. NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE!!!
I'm pretty freaking excited for it and I know that we'll be amazing there! Our football team is playing amazingly and so it the band. It's always a thrill to be there and to watch our Gorillas play in an NFL staduim!
Ok, so It's taken me a while to actually finish this entry, I started around 4, stopped to go to guard practice, walmart, to eat, put together my new vaporizer, and finally shower, and now I'm back. almost 7 hours later. Hey, nobody said that I couldn't do that! =)
So, I'll talk to you later then... hopefully sooner than what I've been updating with recently. lol.
Later, Loves!

So, it's been a long while, once again, but this time I promise pictures! I got some pictures from things I mentioned in my last post, including my birthday and one from the rock with some SAVE members. Lets get to them!

Hey! It's a gorilla! This is me at the OKC zoo on my birthday. Me and Nikki went a little crazy at the gorilla enclosure, but thats ok, cause I fit right in. She understands the draw, it being our mascot and all. It's not like she can go to a zoo and take pictures with all the schooners in their 'natural habitat'! In the interest of not causing the page to take forever to load, I'm only putting this one up. =)

SAI Ladies!! This was our last meeting of the semester, and out Providence Officer, Ginger, came down to present some awards to Christa Weber. The group of us! I *heart* these girls!

Laura (President for next year) and me (Vice-president of Ritual for next year). This is an awesome picture cause she doesn't look like a creeper and we're both in it! I love this woman...

This is me and my sister at the SAI tea we had in May. Nikki is an SAI alum from OU, so we're both wearing our pins. She's pretty cool most the time ;)

This is Sarah, me, and Savannah on the rock during one of the few times it wasn't raining at the end of April. Oh, katie is the one in red, holding the hat. At least thats her Notre Dame hat, I'm pretty sure thats her...

Summer classes start this coming Monday, in which I'll be taking Forensic Psychology. I'll also be on the CARES leaders this summer, so incoming freshmen, come on up and say hi to me, most of us don't bite. Don't be afraid or nervous to ask us something or to just say hey. Thats what we're there for! Please help out your CARES leader and talk during the group sessions... it makes everything so less painful for everyone!

I'm pretty excited for this next week. Not only will the first CARES session be on monday, but summer school starts monday (I have a BUSY schedule on mondays!) but class runs Mon-Thurs. PHS guard practice starts up on wednesday (at 8 am... why I agreed to that time is beyond me!) but then I'm going home on thurs after class because... ONE OF MY BESTEST FRIENDS IN THE WHOLE WORLD IS GETTING MARRIED ON THE 13TH!!!

(Thats Sarah and I last year on her 21st b-day at Applebees... back when I still had my long hair!)

Her and her fiancee have been together for over 3 years now and they're finally tying the knot. I'm gonna be one of the bridesmaids, so I'll hopefully put some pictures on here because I think we're all going to be freaking awesome and, of course, sarah's going to look freaking gorgeous! I get to do the speech at the reception, cause her maid of honor (twin sister) doesn't like public speaking and I can talk for days to anyone. I've been working on my speech... I hope it's good enough! I had to remind the groomsman doing jeff's side to write his, cause he hasn't even started yet. "I have some ideas floating in my head, i just need to write them down on paper!"
... uh huh...
Gah. it's only 11. I haven't really slept... at all... mainly because I didn't want to sleep through my cat's vet appt this morning and I couldn't sleep last night, so I figured that I'd just stay up. about 4 cups of coffe and some heart burn later, I'm here, didn't fall asleep, got my cat to the vet, vaccumed and sprayed down the house (Ginger-kitty's got fleas!!), I'm out of the house and at the library. I know, who goes to the school library in the SUMMER?! Well, me, esp when my house is noxious and my internet doesn't work all the time. Lol.
Ok, well I'm going to get back to work on Sarahs speech. re-read and re-write, thats what I gotta do.
ttyl, loves!

So there have been SO many things that have been going on lately, and I have to say, I'm really sorry that I haven't been keeping up with this. It's down to finals week, so I have some down time while procrastinating finishing my post script for a paper I'm writing currently.

Lets see... it's been like, spring break since I last wrote, or even before then. Man.. I'm horrible. Anyway, April was Sexual Assault Awareness week. SAVE and MVP were busy as always, every week doing something to get the word out. The White Ribbon campaign was during the first week, followed by Spot the Silence the week after that. In the middle of the month, we didn't have an activity, but instead did some freshman experience presentations which is always fun! the 22nd was what we call Stats and Dogs where we give you a hot dog for reading a statistic outloud that we gave you.The last week in April (also the rainiest it has been in a LONG time, or so I think) was the Rock. The rock was where SAVE and MVP members sat out on the giant lava rock on campus 24/7 from 7am Monday - 7pm Friday. Unfortunately, we had to cut it short this year. on Thurday night/Friday morning, there was a HUGE storm and they decided to pack it up around 2:30 in the morning. This last weekend was another event called $1,000 for 1,000 women. we raised almost $400, in which Wal Mart is going to match and we donate that to the Crisis Resource Center.

Speaking of last week, it was FABULOUS for me!! The 8th was my 22nd birthday! =D My sister made it absolutely fantastic for me. I left on Thursday to go down to her place in Norman, OK. We went and saw a Redhawks/Isotopes game on Thurs. On Friday (the actual birthday day) we went to a fun place in OKC called Cuppies & Joe, then to the Zoo, and then, finally, my big gift from her this year: A Slipknot/Korn concert!! No, seriously... I have a whole new appreciation for Slipknot. They give an AMAZING live show!

I'll have to get some pictures of here of the zoo and the concert after my sister puts them up. cause I didn't have my camera, it would figure.

My finals schedule is fairly easy... One test was online, so we did that last wednesday before I left. I have my paper due tomorrow, but other than that, there was a project due today (we finished that last week as well) a test for Fraud Exam today, my test in HR wednesday, and my Principles of Learning one on Friday. Not bad at all...

Alright, so I'd better get back to my paper so I can get this done tonight before the library closes. I've been here since like, 4:30 and it's almost 7 now. Time flies when you're actually working. Go figure!

Later Loves!

Why is break over now? Thats just not fair. =/

I just got done making my schedule for next semester (not counting my summer class).
Summer '09: Forensic Psych.
Fall '09: Cognitive Processes, Psych as a Profession II, Basic Interviewing and Counseling, Criminal Procedure, Guard (of course), Internal Auditing, SAVE. Only like, 15 hours. It's crazy that it'll be my last fall semester in college, but I guess I'll get use to it eventually. Maybe.

Break was boring... hung out with my mom and my boyfriend... usually seperately, but on Friday it was together. Wow, that was an interesting day. Mostly a bad interesting. Yeahhh...

Tonight has been bearable. Mel (my roomie) and her... non-boyfriend Justin are here and we are watching the weather channel (yeah... we have basic cable and nothing is on...) and just talking and making fun of things together. Ginger is sitting by the door, amazed by the outside door, Taco is in his kennel because he doesn't like Justin, and it's all in all not bad.

I don't really have too much mor eto say, so I'm going to say adios.

Later, Loves!

Kayla, Misty, and I at Uniontown High School. SAI and PMA went there back in Feb and we played with the pep band at a basketball game of theirs. It was a LOT of fun, actually! Kayla and I are guard members, but wanted to go still, so their director gave us cowbells and we rocked it out. =)
Sorry, a friend, Laura, just got some pictures up and so I decided to grab one and post it up here. Other than that, school is my life. Class, class, class, maybe some food, class, sleep. Throw some homework in there and you have what I do almost everyday. It's thrilling, lemme tell ya...
This entry is kinda short and fairly early, but I'm tired and am going to go to bed. I've been having some dreams lately that have kept me from sleeping well. =/

So I haven't been feeling well these past few days. It kinda sucks, but I'm getting over it. Our house needs to be quarentined though, because both Mel and I are sick... with different things. How do we do it? Nobody knows...

I was doing my office hour yesterday and gave a tour to two families... one from the KC area and the other was from the Boston area. Both here for our 4 year Auto Tec program. How cool is it that we're that good that we attract people from all over for our tech programs? =)

Mel also got a dog last friday. He's a long hair chihuahua, named Tico. I've gone to calling him Taco... I think it fits him more. He responds to it too! He's a neurotic little thing... I'll have to get a picture of it up soon. It's fun to watch Ginger and him... Ginger is a lot faster than Taco and likes to hurdle over him.

I'm going to wrap this up, I have class at 12:30. Research Writing. It's a gen ed... woohoo! lol

btw, I'm updating from my vista sidebar gadget thing. It's pretty handy, actually!

later, loves!

Like many others, Pitt was covered with ice and snow monday evening and periodically tuesday. Not much fun if you were driving or trying to walk, but really funny when you got to see someone slid and fall! Ok, well, maybe as long as they didn't hurt anything!

I know of several people who got into wrecks, one from my research writing class that "totalled his car" but it's still drivable. Another was my research writing GA herself, almost sliding into the fence surrounding a cemetary. The last one at the top of my mind would be my roomie, Melissa. She hit a slick patch, did a 180, and ended up damaging her hubcap and wheel. Nobody was hurt in any of these, thankfully.

Ok, so next week will be CRAZY BUSY!! With SAI, we have Providence Day in Lawrence this saturday, rush week all next week long, and then topping it all off with a day long Music Camp for k-5th graders the following saturday. I'm going home tomorrow... that should be fun. =) I'll get to see my family and some friends up there hopefully.

Hey... WE GOT CURTAINS YESTERDAY!! Haha, I know that that was fairly random, but I enjoy them.

Classes have been going well... I like all of them and have friends in each of them as well, which also makes me happy. I enjoy knowing people and talking to random people. The work isn't too hard (yet) and the subjects are rather interesting. Social Deviance, Principles of Learning, Human Relations in the Workplace, Fraud Examination, and Intro to Research Writing. I enjoy my major... It almost surprises me because back in HS I wouldn't have thought that I would be where I am today. I was really into biology back then... That was my first major here as well. Biology with an emphasis in medical technology and a minor in chemistry. Biology to Psychology. I love it!

Another random note: Ginger kitty has been sleeping on the back of a chair about 5 ft away from me right now. She looks cuddly. And fluffy. And like she'd be angry if I went and disturbed her.

Silly cato.

Stay warm!!

Later, loves!

So, I had my knee scope last friday morning, around the beginning of my Christmas Break. Yay, right? Oh, definately. 7 am was when it was scheduled to be done... that comes WAY too early in the morning! Well, everything went swimmingly... there was a little more damage to my meniscus than they originally though, prompting them to make another incision in my knee to help them remove it or whatever. anyway, pictures:

This is my knee Friday afternoon when we finally got to my grandma's in Overland Park. She doesn't have any steps where she lives really, so we opted to stay there instead of at our house in Olathe where we have stairs everywhere. Crutches and me are an interesting combination!

This is my knee last night. I just took off the bandages (it was a large ace bandage wrapped over a huge padded thing with layers and layers and layers of gauze underneath to cath the bleeding... which it looks like the cut right below my knee cap did a lot). It has been itching like crazy!!

Today I was walking without my crutches a few times. It was nice... Still limping a bit and can't put full pressure on it, but the fact that it is only about 3 days after the surgery is awesome.

We're going down to Norman, OK for Christmas (and by 'we' I mean me, my mom, and my grandma... plus the two dogs) because my sister can't get off work to come home. It's not the first time we've spent Christmas down there, so it's not that big of a change. Plus it's the first Christmas without my grandpa so thats another reason why we're all going down. Thats basically my entire family right there. Yeah... we're pretty small. A good thing though is that there isn't a ton of us you have to remember if you were to meet the entire family!!

So, I think that my mini dachshund is scared of my crutches. Like... it's kinda funny. I'll be walking and he like, runs away from me when I'm on them... but like right now, he's basically sleeping on me. He makes me laugh. Max is a goofy dog.

My grades were good - Accounting wasn't my best subject, but my gpa for this semester was a 3.11 or so. 7 classes, 6 of them beings A's and B's... we're not going to touch the accounting class though. Math isn't my best subject!!

Oh well... on an ending note, My toes are freezing and I'm incredibly bored.

Ok, so I have 2 hours between classes. Like, we got out extremely early from my speech lecture because we were doing GA evaluations. Not that I mind, mind you. I really liked my GA, so I gave her good marks and some good comments as well.

I cannot wait for Christmas Break though! Don't get me wrong... About @ weeks into break I'll be wanting to come back to Pitt because my loving family will be getting on my nerves, but I just need a hiatus from school. I'm sad about it though at the same time - several of my friends will be graduating and I won't be able to see them walk. =( I'll miss Jessica and Penny... and everyone else thats leaving me, but esp them. They've been my partners in crime for a while now and it'll be weird not to have them in SAVE or any other psych of JS class!!

I'm really tired... I suppose Dead Week is suppose to be like this, but give me a break... it's Monday. That's what I'll blame it on - Monday! One would THINK it'd be fine because you get the weekend to catch up on sleep... but what college student does that? Okay, okay, there are several that DO do that, but wheres the fun in it?

SAI is putting on a Music camp for k-5 for some of the surrounding elementary schools on Feb. 7th. I think it'll be incredibly fun, but am nervous as to what may happen on the actual day when we get ready and are in full alert for anything to wrong. Isn't it the saying that Anything that COULD go wrong, will? Ya... perhaps I'm worried about that then. I just don't want it to. There's been 4 of us working on really hard on details and everything since we came up with the idea in like, September or October. Can't remember. But we've been having weekly meetings OUTSIDE of the regular SAI meetings and Mel is still concerned about me being too involved. Haha. I like being hyper-involved... Mainly so I won't get bored.

Ok, So I just went off on a 20 minute goose chase, looking for pictures to put on here since I SAID I would in the beginning but have failed to these past SEVERAL posts. I promise... I'll try!! I have some really cute ones of Max (my dachshund) and Ginger (Mel's cat), but the internet and my phone aren't currently talking. So, I'll try again later, okay?

I'm really excited because I'm offically on Thanksgiving break. I have NO classes tomorrow. I get to go HOME tomorrow!! Yay! Despite the whole 'family' thing over break, I should have fun (haha, j/k guys, I love you!). I get to go and relax at home with my dog till whenever a friend of mine back home gets off work and then we're probably going out for dinner and a movie or something like that tom night.

Chitten (Commenly known as Ginger) is goin' home with Mel... she's actually calmed down for the night... strangely enough because just not that long ago, she was attacking my computer, feet, and arms with her teeth and back claws... haha. she's now laying in the doorway to the kitchen passed out. I'm glad she has energy in little shorter bursts... because much longer and I think she'd just fall over into a little kitty coma.

I've recently found the love commenly known as rowing machines. They're fun. The Student Rec Center has several of them and they usually come after about 40-45 minutes on the bike for me. Row for about 10-15 minutes and I call it good. lol. I love that place... Mel and I try to make it out there at least 3-4 times a week.

Soo... I'm pretty stoked to be on Turkey day break and then in 3 weeks have Christmas break. Like... seriously. My knee scope will be on the friday of finals week, which means that the sooner that comes, the less amount of time I'll have to deal with it and waves of pain through it. Yay!!

Spoke too soon... Ginger isn't in a kitty coma... she's now purring in my lap. She seems to have taken a liking to me...

Ok, well, I'll probably update again... eventually. Maybe before finals, maybe after. Who knows!

Later loves!!

Ok, an actual update is in store for you because I actually have time to put into this!!

First off, theres my guard.

We're freaking amazing. With everyones personalities and abilities with the flag, we rock. Like I've said before this is the first time we've had enough experience for rifles to do with the show. Also, the fact that we learned the show last week in a week (thats drill, routine, etc) and memorized speaks volumes for us. In the past years, I'm not sure if that could have happened. We'll see what will happen once again this next week as we double the amount that we have to do to get everything ready for the 1st.

Can you believe it's almost Halloween and therefore almost November already? I can't. However, SAI is helping with safe trick-or-treat... that means that I have to get a halloween costume for it. I haven't thought of anything... except handcuffing myself to a fake tree and calling myself a tree hugger or... well... Liberal. haha, j/k.

Speaking of SAI, one of our members gotcrowned our Homecomming queen. Miss Patty Condiff!! It was our first year ever really being involved with the Homecomming activities and to have OUR girl be picked as queen - it's amazing! It helped a lot that shes a drum major and had almost the entire band backing her... we have a large popluation of students... almost 200. If we put or mind to something, we're going to achieve it. Go Band! lol. This picture was taken after Yell Like Hell... which is why we were all bundled up. I think thats a blanket around me... Hmm...

Ladies and Gentlemen... Your queen. =)

Ah, yes. A final note to my entry (because my family is wanting to go get food) this is me and my cat. Her name is Ginger. She's a tad psycho, as my sister has pointed out, but really lovey when she wants to be. We got her from the SEK Humane Society... Rescue animals from there!!!
